It is best to have sex with a person whom you have known, and to be aware of how many sexual partners he/she has had. Get yourself, and your partner tested for STDs before having unprotected sex to be sure of not spreading STDs. Be aware of your partners sex history, and find out if he/she has ever been infected with any kind of STD. It is always good to have a single partner, and to avoid having sex with too many people at random, or strangers.
Vaccinations
There are a few vaccinations available which decrease chances of acquiring STD's. Vaccinations for Hepatitis A, Hepatitis b are available. Make sure to vaccinate yourself to save yourself from getting infected, and infecting others.
